NFA Transfer Information
New Hampshire In State
Transfer
Q: What information is needed to transfer an NFA
item on a FORM 4 to a New Hampshire resident?
A: When buying from us, we will fill the
required form's) and then get it to you for your CLEO sign off, your signature,
affix pictures, etc. We let YOU send it in.
TIP: We suggest you use standard first class postage.
It is a waste of money to send it registered, next day, etc., in our opinion.
TIP: Use a common personal check to pay for the excise
tax. Make sure you can get a copy of the returned check from your bank.
It is proof that your letter arrived at the BATF drop box and started its trip
on way to Washington DC. That is better then registered! Not only
did your letter get their, BUT you know it was processed.

New Hampshire to Out of
State Transfer
To transfer a NFA device to someone outside of New Hampshire is a two step
process. The first step is to get it transferred to a FFL (type 01/07) who
has paid the Special Occupational Tax (SOT), which allows them to deal in NFA
devices. They are commonly referred to as a Class 2 or 3 dealer.
- Have your local Class 2/3 FFL send us a copy of their FFL, originally
signed in ink, along with their SOT stamp to us.
- You need to send us the required down payment.
Once we have the above, we will submit paperwork to the BATF to have the
device transferred to your local Class 2/3 FFL. This usually takes 30-60
days, but in some circumstances, it can take longer. We will notify
you when the approval has happened.
We will then ship to your local Class 2/3 FFL, the device(s), along with the
approved form from the BATF.
Once your dealer has received the device(s), you can then start your federal
paperwork. In some states, you will also be required to do state and/or
local paperwork.
Your dealer will need the following information:
- YOUR

New Hampshire to Corporation
There are always exceptions to the above processes and here is one of them...
If you are a corporation in New Hampshire (or an FFL or FFL/corporation
anywhere in the USA) you can have the corporation or FFL receive a title 2 (NFA)
firearm. A corporation does NOT require finger prints, mug shots or police
of chief signature!
Remember, the corporation owns the firearm, not you. This means you can
let an employee of the corporation use/access the title 2 (NFA) firearm with a
written letter, signed by authorized officer of the corporation for a specified
time frame.
What is needed?
- Payment of down payment
