The
Journeyman
So you think your 1911 is the best, we say, "Bring it
on!"
|
 |
| The Journeyman
is the product of Richard Neimer, the Chief Pistol smith at Safari Arms.
With the market basically aflood of 1911 style handguns, it goes
without saying that if you cannot provide an excellent product, you will
not get the share of the market that you are looking for.
To combat this problem, Richard has developed the "Schuetzen
Pistol Works" as the custom shop of Safari Arms (a division of
Olympic Arms, Inc.). Within the SPW shop are made some of the finest
1911's to ever have hit the street. The 2 latest models, the Street
Deuce and the Journeyman are examples of this fine quality
and craftsmanship.
Pictured above is the Journeyman. This pistol starts its construction
with a full size stainless steel GI style 1911 frame which is investment
cast in Olympic Arms' own casting house (Cast Industries, Costa Mesa,
CA. pictured to the right and below).

Hot work in Costa Mesa! |
Olympic/Safari Arms is one of the very few firearms manufacturers left
that owns and operates it's own casting house. As seen here, this is a
hot and dangerous job. But when done with the skilled hands of employees
who have been pouring steel and aluminum for over 20 years, producing
some of the best investment castings in America becomes second nature.
The frame is then precision CNC machined on some of the best machines
available. The frame is the mated with a 4140 steel slide, and the
handgun really starts to take shape.
|
| Freshly ground frames and slides are tested for quality.
Some parts are installed and tested before this batch of parts will be
passed on the next stage of manufacturing. This happens to be a 6"
slide, but you get the idea. |

| In closing, the Journeyman, along with all other Safari
Arms handguns come with a limited lifetime warranty. All our pistols are
test fired to shoot ball, ammo, lead semi-wad cutters, and hollow point
ammo. Each one is a work of art who's history is meticulously maintained
by Richard Neimer himself.
Manufacturers suggested retail price for the Journeyman is $1,299.00.
As these are custom made handguns, the chances of you actually finding
one on the shelf is somewhat rare. For this reason however, we offer you
a 60 day 100% money-back satisfaction guaranty. In other words, if
within 60 days from the date of your purchase you are not completely
satisfied with your Safari handgun, your dealer may return it to us
along with a copy of the original invoice for a full refund (less
shipping). The absolute best warranty in the business, hands down!
